Enes Kanter Freedom says he was turned away at the door for Game 3 of the WNBA Finals, and the reason has nothing to do with a ticket mix-up.

According to video he posted himself, the Dream and State Farm Arena had arranged for him to sit in a private suite, a response to safety concerns around his attendance. Freedom refused the suite. Security then denied him entry to the building entirely. That is the account as he has told it, straight from his own camera, and I have not seen anything from the Dream or the league disputing the sequence.

It happened on a night Atlanta did not need any extra storylines. Angel Reese and the Dream were busy taking care of business on the floor, running past the Valkyries 97-71 to push the series to 2-1. Reese has been the engine of this Finals run, and Game 3 was another example of what a team with her doing the heavy lifting looks like when it is clicking. The basketball story and the access story happened on the same night in the same building, and only one of them involved a box score.

What I am watching now is simple: does this get resolved before Game 4. Golden State hosts... actually Atlanta hosts the Valkyries Saturday with the Dream holding that 2-1 cushion, and a second denied entry would turn a one-night dispute into a pattern the league has to answer for publicly. Freedom has built a public profile around speaking up when he feels unsafe or unheard, in and out of basketball, so I would not expect him to quietly let this go. Whether the Dream or State Farm Arena offers a different arrangement, or a fuller explanation of what prompted the safety concern in the first place, is the next thing to watch. Right now we have his version of one night. The fuller picture isn't in yet.
