  1. Tampa Bay without Baker Mayfield. Bowles said Monday the thumb dislocation keeps his quarterback out at least three weeks. That is not a one-game blip, that is a month of offensive projections getting rebuilt from the studs. What turns it into a play: knowing exactly who takes the first-team snaps and seeing whether the market prices the backup honestly or prices the logo.
  1. Carolina's secondary after the Jaycee Horn news. The reporting says torn quad, second opinion pending, injured reserve, and possibly the rest of 2026. Losing your number one corner indefinitely is the kind of subtraction that leaks into totals and passing volume for weeks, not days. What turns it into a play: confirmation of who slides into that role, then a team total that still looks like Horn is out there.
  1. Justin Jefferson's ankle. The MRI came back a sprain, and the reporting has him with a chance to suit up against Miami this week. That is the swingiest single name of the day. What turns it into a play: practice participation. If he is limited Wednesday and full Friday, the market usually gets there before I do. If the news stays vague into the weekend, that's a tell.
  1. Two backfields that changed shape. Etienne is out for New Orleans with a hamstring, no timetable offered, and Breece Hall is week to week with a quad after the Jets' 31-24 loss to Detroit. Backup running backs are where soft numbers live, because usage forecasts lag the actual snap counts. What turns it into a play: a named early-down starter, not a committee shrug from a podium.
  1. The Giants' quarterback room. With Jaxson Dart out for the year, New York sent a fifth-rounder to Minnesota for J.J. McCarthy, a former No. 10 pick with ten career games. Eagles at Bears is the only game in front of us tonight, and I have nothing there worth your attention, which is its own kind of read.
